Because of it's relatively small size, El Salvador's population is only a measly 1.9% of the United States'. More than half of this population lives in the cities, but there are still rural areas all around the country that are inhabited. By looking at the map we can see that San Salvador is easily the most populus city with 540,989 people living here, and Santa Ana comes in at a cool second with only 245,421 people living in that city.

Agriculture is an important part of the El Salvadorian economy with the country producing coffee, sugar, corn, rice, beans, oilseed, cotton, sorghum; beef, and dairy products. Many of these things are sold and exported, but what doesn't leave the country is then used to make delicious food mainly inspired or similar to that of Latin America and Spain. The exportation of these agricultural products though, create a large amount of the income for the country but some others include the production and export of petroleum, chemicals, fertilizer, textiles, furniture, and light metal. This agricultural industry especially is directly related to the weather and climate, but this weather and location also bring in many surfers which are the main form of tourists to the area. Big swells coming off the Pacific Ocean and the warm waters draw surfers from all around the world.
